New Release! We have big, badass Syrah aromas and flavors here! This Syrah is an homage to the way my Papa loved to make wine. Over the top in quality, and both viscous and gigantic in flavor and texture. Aromas of aged leather, bacon fat, blackberry, white pepper and a nuance of mint with flavors of blueberry, vanilla bean, sea salt and a pipe tobacco finish.

New Release! Aromas of black pepper, violet, black tea, pipe tobacco, graham cracker cacao, raspberry and herbs jump to the top of the glass followed by sultry flavors of black cherry, plum, rose petal, anise, cardamom with a balanced and smoky finish. And…Tannat is spelled the same forward and backward which is why I call this stunner, “The Palindrome.” It is very important that you know my favorite palindrome:
“Go hang a salami, I’m a lasagna hog,” Check it out... Gohangasalamiimalasagnahog. YAAAAS!

New Release! Rarely do I allow a wine to sit in so much new oak for such a long duration, but this wine kept getting more complex and sophisticated the longer it aged. Although Pearl Hart wasn’t sweet and nice, this Zinfandel smells like ripe cherry and spice. The wine from these 130-year-old "Ancient Vines” exhibits flavors of berry pie, pipe tobacco, saddle leather, blackberry, black tea, honey and a hint of cherry blossom. It is my pleasure to present to you the Pearl Hart Reserve Zin. She is a rare beauty, please enjoy!

Ripe blueberry, strawberry, and sarsaparilla emphatically greet one’s nose, followed by rich flavors of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate, plum, playful coconut notes and a long sage and black cherry finish. Best enjoyed with a kind of funny Norwegian or Swedish joke. As my Dad always says, “Never underestimate the value of a little fun.”

New Release! I am extremely proud of this wine. These vines were planted in 1973, which is basically ancient as far as California Pinot Noir goes. This beautiful Pinot Noir was aged in oak for 18 months to fully integrate the fruit, oak and tannin profiles. The result is mature and exciting featuring aromas of brandied cherry, sarsaparilla, mushroom and hibiscus followed by flavors of raspberry, pomegranate, blood orange, cacao, plum and dried herbs.

New Release! Sangiovese is such a versatile grape, and while I adore young Sangiovese, I can also make a case for being patient and allowing it to age a bit. This Sangiovese was aged in neutral French oak barrels for 18 months and will fulfill the traditional Italian Sangiovese connoisseur’s palate. This wine conveys aromas and flavors of dried cherry, potpourri, leather, thyme, tomato, pepper and blooming roses.

New Release! We love old school field blends like this! This particular one includes more esoteric grape varieties like Alicante Bouschet, Carignane, Tannat, Palomino, Peloursin, Dolcetto, Muscat Noir, and the list goes on. They all in influence this amazing Zinfandel that is grown on ancient vines planted in 1890. Juicy blackberry, pomegranate, nutmeg and honey guide the aromatics followed by flavors of berry pie, ripe plum, white pepper, raspberry and cappuccino.

New Release! The 2016 is my favorite bottling from this vineyard, thus far. This stunning Napa Zinfandel exhibits aromas and flavors of freshly ground pink peppercorn, blackberry, blueberry, caramel, cigar box, forest floor, anise and minerality. This is by far the most masculine Zinfandel I make. I am here to coax the grapes into the wines they are meant to be, and the Hendry is always big, assertive and unapologetic.
