Established in 2008, Rock Wall Wine Company is part of a burgeoning urban winemaking scene. Located in Alameda, an island city in San Francisco Bay, our boutique winery produces ultra premium wines from multiple California grape-growing regions.
Rock Wall Wine Company represents the next chapter in the Rosenblum's legendary urban winemaking saga. Kent is CEO for the operation that features his daughter Shauna as winemaker. Rock Wall emphasizes the intense, deeply flavored reds made famous by Kent, tempered by a slightly lighter touch that Shauna brings to the wines. Single vineyard Zinfandels will continue to be the core of the portfolio, which also includes creative blends, interesting whites, and quirky, playful varietals.
Grapes are sourced from prime vineyards throughout Northern California. Over the years, the Rosenblums have formed relationships with growers whose vineyards are ideally situated for the varieties they grow. These great vineyards and the grapes they produce provide the foundation for the high quality of Rock Wall wines. The vineyard and varietal diversity also results in a wide range of wine flavors and styles. Winemaking techniques are customized for each varietal and vineyard site, enhancing the uniqueness of each bottling.
The winery is located in a repurposed airplane hangar on the western tip of Alameda. Its location affords spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline (also featured on our packaging). More importantly, its location is regionally centralized – ensuring that the winemaking team is able to process the grapes soon after they are picked, whether they be Zinfandel grapes from Napa Valley, Petite Sirah from Sonoma County , Tannat from Solano County, or Chardonnay from Santa Lucia Highlands.
